**Valley Youth Fundraiser- August 21st 5-9pm**
At Bent Paddle Brewing with Live music from New Salty Dogs
All of the paintings, prints, and more will be available for purchase during a silent auction.This is meant to celebrate all of the creativity and collaboration that has blossomed at the outdoor High Key Mondays this summer. The imaginations of the community members, especially the kids, who have joined in on these paintings is what makes them so magical. So we want all of the proceeds of their sales to benefit Duluth's Valley Youth Center, a West Duluth based community resource that serves our children and fosters creativity, life skills, and healing.
Ayana Greene and I, make up the duo that facilitates this painting adventure. Every Monday, we create a world on canvas and bring it to the Salty Dog concert at Bent Paddle at 6pm for all the kids and community members to fill with whatever they imagine. We support and encourage young artists as they work together to create everything from hotdog dragons on the moon, to flying exploding ketchups. We focus on creating a kid friendly experience, but artists of all ages join in the fun.
This activity helps grow confidence, build community and teaches collaboration while creating a public space for people to let there imaginations run wild! It's important for us to provide this experience for free to keep it accessible to everyone, but we also pay for all the supplies out of pocket (which gets expensive fast!) so our gofundme is meant to raise funds to help buy canvases, paint, and other fun supplies to add if there is extra! We would also love to expand this activity to other events and areas of our community as our resources allow <3
