This show is a journey across mediums aiming to communicate a flight of ideas. Pieces explore the thoughts and visions that rattle through my mind at 2am, and as I stare out windows on days that look warm but feel cold. Some pieces I hope viewers will find relatable. Some pieces, I hope sew confusion and warrant a second glance.

Dreams and Things

All of my life, art has been like breathing. It was essential, natural, and integral to who I am and how I see the world. Art always was, and always will be a part of me alongside any other passion or adventure I pursue. As I have explored and grown through all of the beautiful places and people I have been so lucky to meet, I have drawn all of these experiences and lessons into my art. I have learned that childhood whimsy and playfulness should not be grown out of. Wisdom, happiness and silliness are not mutually exclusive, in fact I suspect they are deeply connected.
In this show, you will find that whimsy and silliness. These paintings are inspired by my dreams, and all the silly fun that inspires me to think ridiculously. Many of them were even painted during the live concerts New Salty Dog and The Hot Club of Duluth, two bands composed of people who are well acquainted with the importance of losing yourself in your imagination.
